Hey ncka, I'm wondering if anyone has a good source for quality replacement trebles. Not looking for owner or gama quality/price, just need something more trustworthy and durable than lucky craft stocks. And preferably discounted in bulk. Thanks for your time.

Is not Amazon your friend?   Can you get away with single hooks? :smt006

Temu and Aliexpress have vendors offering a wide assortment of hooks in bulk quantities.

I have bad quality/experience with Temu on fishing tackles and wouldn't recommend them.

Berkley fishing usually has a big sale at around Thanksgiving. I loaded up on their Fusion Treble Hooks 1X size 10, 8, 6.  They are excellent hooks and just as good as Gami's and Owner hooks. It may be a while for their next big sale.  https://www.berkley-fishing.com/collections/hooks

I've tried aliexpress and got sharp hooks out of the package but dulled and rusted easily ( but they have brands like BKK too). I love the berkeley fusions, will look out for the sale. I can try amazon since it should be more dependable than ali. Anyone have any links that they recommend?

I just bought a bunch of hooks from Mustad. They had a 35% off for the 4th of July. Discount code was freedom. Triple grips are a really good treble hooks but they don’t have them in bulk. There are others in bulk though.

The ones on the lures are probably same quality as Alibaba, or even the same source. But why go budget friendly if you recognize they are substandard hooks.  If I'm swapping hooks out, they are for the highest quality I can get.

Totally agree.   I only buy Owner treble hooks nowadays.  You don't want to loose a fish of a life time because of poor quality hooks!

Good question.

You might miss a few hookups with single hooks, but if one of those hookups is yourself, you will be very glad that you did not treble your trouble. Of course, there is also the matter of whether barbless is worth considering...

I am right there with you never cheap out on hooks. I rather go cheaper on line rod or reel than hooks and always get owner.

Thanks for all the replies, I be sticking with owners on my bigger baits (glides), and I was just looking for something for the schoolies in the bay right now (jerkbaits). The VMC Short Shank Round Bend fit my criteria pretty well and have good reviews on TW, so might take advantage of their sale.

Not sure what to recommend, but I would just go buy from the trusted brand. If you are reselling the lure, bite the bullet and get it. Since I ever switched to fish commercially, I pay way more attention on terminal tackles. I will pay extra if there is a hook that guarantee to land a fish every time. (no such thing exist yet)

Regardless of initial quality point "stickiness", trebles gotta be renewed often if you're bouncing a jig in the rocks. Sometimes a half a dozen casts will ruin a hook - of course you're ahead of the game by not losing the whole jig. I prefer smaller 2# or 4# because they usually straighten out before your leader, knots, or terminal tackle fail from the strain.
