I've had this unit for about 3 years and I have absolutely loved it. I think you have to select which map pack you want though and it looks like this deal is for ocean + great lakes maps only, so freshwater users beware that this one wont have depth contour maps for your lakes. I think you can still run quickdraw contours if you install a memory card, and you might even be able to purchase/download additional maps. Garmin Connect app for your smartphone is cool too because you can link your phone to the head unit and read texts on your head unit while your phone is stowed away. Then I can decide without looking at my actual phone while OTW whether I need to pull it out and reply, answer call, etc. its the little things! The Garmin UX is truly my favorite over Lowrance and Humminbird.

I had to modify the transducer mount/plate thing in my Revo to get this 'ducer to fit. Be prepared to get crafty if you have a hobie without the guardian transducer plate and want it to stow inside the transducer well. Dimensionally speaking it is doable, but just barely. Would probably be no issue for an Outback and that Guardian retractable transducer mount thing.

Maybe I'll pick up another...

I picked one of these up. I know nothing about sounders. What battery you all recommend? Nocqua 10ah? What's best?

I can run this unit on full brightness for 2 full fishing days on one charge with the Nocqua 10AH. Its been a great combo for me.

What's your average 2 day session? Mine doesn't last two 7 hour sessions. Maybe 1 1/2.

I'd say 6-8 hours per day. My battery usually dies early on day 3 of fishing campouts. I've never tracked actual run time so take my experience with a grain of salt. Battery age will also play a role in how long it will last.

I've been using an Amped Outdoors 12v 15ah for 2 years. I get about 12 hours on 7 inch Raymarine Element and 9 hours on my 9 inch Element.  Its been working great.
