I arrived at Miller Boat Ramp before 6 a.m. The wind was still blowing, but as I was preparing to launch, it calmed down. I used sabiki to catch some smelts, perch, and sardines. Drifted/trolled from the yellow buoy to Hog Island all morning without a bite.  Finally, I got my first bite at 1 p.m. and landed 32" halibut.  The second was around 2 p.m., which was 30" halibut.  I got lucky and got my limit.

Hey Paul great catches, I would of been happy to bring home some fresh sardines. The last time I was there I only caught 2 sardines.

Sticking it out paid off big! That’s a long day. I could see myself quitting at 12:30 for a total skunk.

Good work, Paul.  I'll be out there on Friday.  Have been finding them in recent weeks too.  Those jumbo 8 to 10 inch sardines are a nice side benefit too, grilled some up a few weeks ago and they were great!

See you out there.

Congrats Paul! I happened to be close by, having experienced two scratched bites at the same location moments before. I was able to take photos while Paul caught my his fish!
