Nagasawa Park LMB

The lake is choked with hydrilla and cattails very little open water started fishing with the usual LMB lures and didn't get any hits except for some very aggressive Bluegill. I could see a few bass cruzin over the weeds but they wouldn't hit until I downsized my offerings. Caught 8 LMB most were cookire cutter 12" nothing over 14". Got a late start and fished about 3 hours. Lake is about a mile from my house. Can't really tell how deep it was because of all the weeds , but there is a lot of cover so there must be some bigger fish. Talked to a float tuber who released 2 about 4/5 lbs. Water temp was 72 going to try an evening this week.

Those first two blue gill pics are classic. That looks like an awesome lake. I haven't fished many lakes with lots of weeds. It can be a drag or a blessing depending out how you fish it.

I used to fish that lake quite a bit with my float tube.  Caught plenty of bass but never anything huge.  I didn't know it is called Nagasawa Park now... never really had a name before... I always called it Fountaingrove Lake.  Nice to see they have improved the access.

Erik that's the name of the lake they just opened the Park last month they have a huge parking lot.

I should take my UL and hit that lake on my lunch break. Erik, Bob, and Myself all work about 2.5 minutes from that place.

Fountaingrove lake was the first lake I ever fished without my grandfather (my fishing mentor).  I cut class from junior high with a buddy.  Of course, we got caught by the sheriff and my dad had to go to the station to retrieve my fishing gear
My son and I used to fish it with float tubes and did very well with a carolina rig.  Not too many fish, but good size.  It might be time to try to get out there in a yak.

I'd try a wacky senko or texas rig worm in close to the tulies around dusk.

 This lake is obviously not in Santa Cruz Co. because I've never heard of it.  Where is it?  Never mind, I found it on Google earth.  It's stilled called "Fountaingrove" on Google earth.

Ben - Spring Lake is another great little lake for BG and the rare monster bass.

Spring Lake has some real nice bass.  Riverfront Park in Windsor pretty nice too.
