Get them batteries charged. Need to get my generator started. Some friends in the surrounding areas already have their power out. Just the beginning. The ground will saturate and the trees will start falling. Ups guy said he has already seen many.

Watch out for falling branches or trees!

We're lucky, since we're protected from wind out of the south. Regardless, I'm surprised that our electricity is still on...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

We've been on generator since about 9:30 this morning.  I expect we'll be on generator into Tuesday based on how things are looking.  Winds are just starting to really pick up.  They're mostly out of the ESE and we have a nice lee from SE winds, but we're still seeing 33 mph gusts on the weather station.

Was talking with a friend who is a lineman. His crews are expected to be transferred to the Santa Cruz/ Monterey area from there areas north of the golden gate, for large areas of expected power outages.

Power is out now, and our standby Briggs & Stratton generator is working like a champ, as it has without fail since I installed it in 2009 (well, a couple of parts have been replaced over the years...).

So far, it's still a south (maybe south-south east) wind, and hoping it stays that way. The more easterly, the more nerve-wracking, as there are some very large trees in that direction, including one humongous dead leaner. Fortunately for us, that dead one seems to be out of range for our house--it is, however, directly aimed at a vacant house...

Still no power in my neighborhood.   Latest update from PG&E power to be restored around 1pm today.   Hope this schedule won't slip again.
