I am new to Kayak Angling and eager to learn. I have bee an avid fly fisherman and stsrted to focus on float tubing on Sierra lakes. Lookin at a Hobie Outback to cover more water.

Interested to learn more about local bass fishing lakes as well as some well protected salt water venues

Welcome to NCKA.

I used to fly fish from a float tube, too.  However, this year, I plan to sell my fly fishing gear, including the Fat Cat float tube.  After I got into kayak fishing, I didn't get to use my float tube and fly fishing gear.

Welcome!

The outback is a great platform. Me and the significant other both have them.

In healdsburg you can fly fish the Russian river for steelhead right now (maybe not right now cause it’s blown out), Shad in a few months, and smallmouth bass in the summer/fall. Lake Sonoma is a fun fishery for bass both large and smallmouth, as well as trout and catfish. Same for lake Mendocino. Clearlake is close and if you can’t catch a bass there I don’t know what to tell you  :smt044   Berryessa is an awesome multi species lake as well. Lots of smaller ponds like riverfront park, spring lake, howarth park, nakasawa park and annadel park hold bass and sunfish. Plus we have salt too! Sf bay, Tomales bay, bodega bay, the whole friggen coast!

At any rate read thru some posts, ask some questions, and if you see a hookup post join on in!
