I plan to summarize the results per each management area and submit them to CDFW and PFMC.  Also, I will post the result at this site on February 1st.

Paul

I am done, submitted, thank you!

I submitted mine... thanks!

Would be good on the months section to replace "errors" with "arrows" and to say you can DRAG the months with a mouse click if you want (instead of lots of arrow clicks).

Takes about 30 seconds to respond - hope as many folks from here possible can do so!

Thanks!

Some of the Northern area voters must not have any clue about the best calm ocean days when they ranked their months.  July or August should be 1 and 2.  Next, September or June for 3 and 4.  October is an easy lock for 5.  After 5 it should be May at 6, April at 7, November at 8 and December at 9.

The wind often blows in May.  June can be windy too, but the long days can be better than some in September which makes it a toss up between the two.  It’s just plain stupid to put May as 3 because of wind and that’s typically when the crabs hatch and everyone is bitching about it being a slow bite.  Also, April should clearly be in the bottom 3 unless you like rainy windy conditions.  Some of the best days can be in October and September besides the obviously best months of July and August.  Go look at fishing reports and tides cause it will give you a clearer picture.

I think August and September have the best weather/least wind and should be tops. Then October and July. I would also put November ahead of May. Who doesn't like a crab/rockfish combo?

To be clear, this is for all fishermen, right?  Not just kayak anglers.

Why doesn't CDFW run their own poll?

-Allen

Hi Allen

This pole is for kayak anglers; we are only distributing it through NCKA, F&S, and the Non-Motorized Vessel website.  When we forward our survey results, we will state they are from kayak anglers.
Other recreational fishing community are collecting their data and information.

Why doesn't CDFW run their own poll? I do not know.

Paul

When I asked about this being for all fishermen, I meant that the proposed regulations are applicable to all fishermen, and not just kayak anglers.  Is the petition for kayak angler specific regulations all but dead at this point?

-Allen

Hi 123engineering, not sure if you saw the followup question, as there was a page break.  Is the petition for kayak angler specific regulations all but dead at this point?

The survey has been closed, and we have the final report, which has been forwarded to CDFW staff and a Pacific Fishery Management Council
(PFMC) GAP member.  Thank you for your participation.

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for doing such a great job in putting  this information together that was requested by CDFW Staff to our petition working group. I'm sure it will be useful for them in coming up with recommendations to the Fish and Game Commission.

How do you know the results are primarily from … Northern California Kayak Anglers?  And who is that group?  Seriously, I rarely hear of us called that.

I can tell NCKA members based on survey submitters' email addresses.  I always refer to us as Northern California Kayak Anglers to non-NOCKA members.  Do you have better suggestions?

We are NorCal Kayak Anglers, not Northern California.  Not saying it doesn't happen, but I rarely hear people referring to us as Northern California.  Curious if others thought of us as Northern California ...

I thought NorCal stands for  Northern California,  my bad for the assumption.

Subtle difference.

Let's try this.  When you speak it, what do you say?  NorCal or Northern California?

Or another way to explain.  When I first saw it in written form, my first thought was who is that group, until I read to the next word that was (NCKA).  I really don't have it in my head that we're "Northern California".

I'm genuinely curious about this.  What is our actual identity?  I think perhaps we should take this to another post and stop the threadjack here.
