Greetings fellow anglers! My name is Pat and I enjoy fishing around Sonoma county and beyond. I've generally targeted rockfish and Dungeness crab. Would love to expand my horizons to other tasty creatures. I'm looking forward to the upcoming crab season! Does anyone expect gear restrictions or know when they typically announce them?

Cheers!

Go Pat go!  No handshakes for you, a fist bump will do. :smt005  Always gear restrictions, always delays, always to be announced.  Someone will post on the forum if these new common freedoms, within the dfw and the powers that be, discover reasons to “protect the populations of all species”.  Stay tuned and get those “hoops”  ready for 11/4?  I’m thinking hoops are the only restriction I can think of vs. pots.  I’ve found hoops to be mo bettah anywayz for yak life.  That’s all I got… :smt006

Welcome Pat! I think it's going to be hoops vs commercial style traps again and I believe they're required to announce 5 or maybe 10 days before the scheduled opening day for your region. I just ordered a few of those promar ambush traps from cabelas. $65 each, plus buoy, line, and bait jar.
