My good old buddy, napajustin and I decided to “go take a look” at the ocean sat morning. , and am I glad I took his advice!
The forecast almost scared me off but it was such an easy launch and landing- so easy peasy! We got the wind at the end of our outing getting off the water around 2. We did have ‘on the ground fog”  we had to deal with for half the day , so that can be annoying but electronics!!!!!
Went  to my honey hole and immediately picked up two nice Browns and the rockfish started coming in. The Lings were a little selective on their bite.  Take downs, no sticks with  the Lings but the stringer started filling with rockfish. High tide was around 11 and the bite slow down for an hour or so, we both got our Lings with blacks  that were picked up along the way, Mine I went old school and took a 4 oz jig , thru the nose and the 8-9” Ling Candy was dropped in  100ft.
In a couple min I felt tug! At first I thought he just grabbed it so I gave him some light pressure and slowly brought him up,next thing you know he is in the net!!! yeah, I was happy !
Turns out he had a nice upper hook set in the top lip. I ended up with my Rockfish limit and one ling, Justin had His Ling limit, and almost Rockfish limit. We were lucky to experience a little different taste of nature. Yesterday we had a pilot whale or some type, find us interesting for about 10 minutes, he’s circled us, got real close, But was just checking us out…
he got so close. Justin could smell the puff of air that came out of his blow hole!  hot stinky, disgusting fish smell! thats close!!!ha ha ha probably 25 feet long. It was a cool experience. .

I remember when I first got into this,  there was this old fart from the valley who said
“shit if ya always listened to the forecast,  you’d never go Fishin!”

We hoped for good fishing juju and were rewarded!
After the 3rd week  I had to take a look and it Looked good!
The  afternoon got a bit sloppy but by then we were done!
