New to NorCal

Hi guys, my wife and I moved to NorCal (Auburn) this past winter. Moved from OC… Don’t hold it against me! Lol we love it up here. We both have Hobie outback’s. I fish, she doesn’t… but she loves to go out when I do. I have only ocean fished in my kayak. I plan to fish the NorCal coast and have done some fishing on the coast up here when I made the long commute from OC. I also want to do some fresh water fishing up here too. Would love some local ideas. I am looking into Donner lake… and her and I have camped at Rollins lake but only fished from the shore. I am 52 years old and in the next 6 months should be semiretired so looking forward to getting out mid week.

Hi neighbor! I'm in Weimar and work in Auburn. several of us up here. Rollins after work is a jewel. I go in at Greenhorn (Best spot) band fish/float till 10pm.

there is some good lake fishing here, try Bullards bar for Kokanees - easy trip from Auburn, nice lake.

like many of the others, I typically make the drive to the coast, love Sonoma in particular (close-ish, good fishing) as well as Santa Cruz

That's Awesome! Was hoping there were some others in the area. I have camped at Orchard Springs at Rollins lake. Honestly didn't realize there was another launch ramp at that lake.

Yep You aren't far at all. I also love the Sonoma coast. Was just at Tamales Bay, and bodega Bay looking at launch ramps etc. I have never fished the San Francisco Bay so that is also on my list. Looks like Alameda wall may be easiest. Trying to do most of my research via youtube and google Maps. Sucks not knowing much about the area but slowly learning. I do love Ocean Cove! Did the drive when I lived in Southern California.
