I am going to Eureka for the last weekend in July and want to see about a day of fishing up there and unfortunately I will not be able to bring my Kayak since we are taking a different vehicle set up for dog Agility Trials. I think there a lot of options, but wanted to see about any suggestions/recommendations.  I am interested in Halibut and/or rockfish/Lingcod mostly.  Thanks in advance. Denny from Sebastopol

There are also easy half day trips out of trinidad, 150$ for your rockfish and 10 crab! hard to beat. (Jumping Jack and windrose)

bigger full day boats are 300 but you might be able to get a spot on one of those if pac hali is still open and weather permits. (reel steel, full throttle, shellback, lost coast charters) I would send some feelers out to reserve a seat if you are interested in that.

Also some shore fishing from jetties and beaches if you pack a rod!

You can fish for calihali from the beach in fair haven.  Good mid morning to afternoon tides for it on those days too.

I no longer have a kayak, but I'd be willing to take you out in the bay and search for some Calibutts. Maybe a lil rockfishing out towards the jetti on my boat

I'm curious, can you launch at Fairhaven? Any other places to launch besides the launch ramp in Eureka?
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Fields Landing has a public boat launch.  Believe it is on Railroad Ave.

I know of Fields Landing. I'm looking for something closer to the halibut grounds. Thanks though.
