Lose a Kayak Near Mendocino?

Visiting Mendocino today and saw this Jackson kayak on top of a pile of driftwood down a cliff in the bay.  It would be quite a task to get it out.

Seen a few of these videos and just makes me think that this is another FnS sinking:

I'd assume falling off a dock or off the back of a boat.

Well they certainly had an adventure. I expected the first because of the thumbnail, but number 2? Why all the duct tape on the hull?

They all seem pretty inexperienced, and don't appear to have many safety protocols in place. Anyone else notice that Hali was way undersized he planned on keeping?
