Hey I’m from Nevada and looking at heading to Gaviota area to fish with couple buddies, but we have no idea where to launch our three pro anglers, or where we can stay. Just wondering if anyone might have any suggestions, or ideas that could help us?

You can launch from Gaviota State Park (go under the railroad trestles).  It's also a decent campsite (reservation needed) that's not too far from the nearest town.

I've been there in the summer and the area off the beach has halibut.

Check before you go, it might still be closed due to recent storm damage.

1/16/2023 UPDATE: Gaviota State Park is temporarily closed until further notice due to severe storm damage, flooding, and debris cleanup.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding while State Parks works towards reopening.
We are continuing to assess damages that have occurred in seven local State Parks; these assessments will inform recovery needs.
Initial damage assessments revealed that the roads and trails in the back country have been compromised and, in some cases, have severe erosion and cannot be accessed due to these unsafe conditions.
Infrastructure was destroyed in the floods, particularly waterlines providing service to the park’s facilities.
The entry road, campground and day use facilities require significant debris and sediment removal.
State Parks is engaged with local, State, and Federal Emergency Operations to acquire the resources necessary for repairing these damages.
Channel Coast District staff is receiving support from around the state, and all efforts are being prioritized to bring back access to these beloved State Parks.

You can launch from Gaviota State Park (go under the railroad trestles).

I camped there once, and if you launch from that beach, you need to be aware of the wind. At least when I was there, there was a strong offshore wind that started in the late afternoon and howled all night. If you are on the water when that starts, you might never get back to shore...
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?
