Wow Angle shark!!!  That's so cool!  & the pic is great too!
Did you keep it?  I heard they're most tasty shark... but they're not doing so well (critically endangered), so I guess we should eat them...

Those angle sharks are NO ANGEL!! They are nasty! First time I landed one of those years ago on a scampi. I didn't know it was a shark. I thought it was a ray of some kind. Well I reached down to pull out the jig and these lips rolled back and out came these nashing teeth, just like the alien movie. It just missed my fingers! After that, nothing but a pair of pliers goes near those jaws... Rockroach, you did quite well out there. Looking forward to hooking up for some steelies this fall/winter. If we have half the year we did last year, it'll be great. That's one of the things I love about Tomales. The place is full of life, in and around the water. You never know what your going to see or get out there. I also got this huge multi armed starfish after you left, that must have weighed 5-6 lbs. Had my whole setup all wrapped up. Scott, will do.

I've had the best luck catching smelt in the water between Little Hog and the inside channel marker(south). We've been pot holing between the kelp close to the islands, paddle till you meter spots of bait and drop your sabiki. The west side had mostly shiners and walleye perch, I haven't tried by Nicks cove, but it looks like it should have perch there too.
