Made it out today for about two hours. Was nice and warm and the famous Tomales afternoon wind wasn't bad either. Launched from Marconi. Water temp was up to 56* on the outgoing tide. Not much action though, 1 bite and no bait around yet. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Just an update. Didn't make it on the water at T-Bay today even though it was 80+degrees and glass on the water. The water temp I've measured is anywhere from 53-56 in the outer bay and warmer in the inner bay this past week. Best of all news is their is bait in the bay now. I will be back on the water tomorrow for work and will report if there are any notable observations. It is supposed to blow this weekend unfortunately. Halibut are soon.

I went out from Marconi about a couple of weeks ago. there was a good bit of wind from the northwest. I chugged into the wind for about a mile and a half, and then turned around and trolled under wind power back to the launch. Every few hundred yards I had to reel in my rig and remove a couple of pounds of bright green slime from my weight and herring. I think I'll stick to the Miller launch from now on.

WSB is the dream, got to get back out there.

Seeing as my new job allows me to be on the water in tomales bay all the time. I won't give up hot spots or such but ill try to report on conditions especially as it starts to warm up into the season. If you were getting that much seaweed, I think you didn't go out far enough out of Marconi towards the west side where it gets deeper and much less seaweed.

Was out there yesterday. Followed my gut instead of my head and went north to Marshall vs Inverness. Paid off with a nice big skunk. Spent some time hunting bait but could only find big ole mongo smelt. Appeared as if they are spawning. I kept a few of the smallest ones and rigged them up. Drifted a couple of the spots with no luck while I kept my eye open for bait activity. Couldn't find any, just tons of jumbo smelt. Rode the incoming and wind back to the launch. Definitely a fair bit of the slime which would be a pain in the ass if trolling. Saw a couple boats out there. They were moving to and fro from Inverness and Marshall. Don't know if they had success. Cant give water temps, as I don't have a finder. Have a feeling we will start seeing the reports coming in soon though. All and all it was great day on the water

A jerk at one end of the line waiting for a jerk at the other end.

I was out there yesterday with 2 other guys. We started at the yellow can and fished north past the green markers. I only marked one bait ball for the entire morning. We didn’t catch anything and the 3 other boats didn’t have any much either. I did have a striped bass that was about 15” long chase my dead anchovies to the top of the water as I was checking my bait. There are thousands of jelly fish in there right now! The water was like glass for most of the day until 11:30 then it got windy. Nice being out in the bay again and can’t wait for the flatties to show up.
