Scottymeboy and Eddie, you guys got it.  Photoshop all the way, I carry 4 pots which is enough.  I think that many pots would sink the kayak!

My custom crab pot is finally doing some work, I left it soaking in Trinidad and had 5 nice keepers and 1 messed up female i let swim.

I wish I still had my collapsible promer tho with 4 doors (it walked off on a good tide last year), I just think they preform better. This one is taller then those traps but at only 20" and round its just a little too small, only 1 door and its hard to get my bait set correctly. This morning I pulled a couple that were just clinging to the edge during a short soak because they could reach my bait from the side lol.

But it made my morning sesh a little easier. A steady pull of 1-2 crabs on my ring got me to my limits before work!

Delivered to my happy fam for our pre-turkey day feast.

Happy Holidays to you all

If you go collapsible, I would definitely check these out from McKay that are made for Kayaks. https://www.mckayshrimpandcrabgear.com/store/Crab-Pot-Kayak-Crabber-12-x-12-x-24-p53260356

I had the square Danielson's and like these MUCH better for stowing on the kayak (2020 Outback) and getting a heavy pot into the boat.

Hmm. Do they catch? I built one very similar and it didn't catch. I concluded that if you are going to have a rectangular trap with 2 doors, you want the doors on the long sides. But I never tested that Hypothesis out by moving the doors, so maybe the crab didn't like it for some other reason.
