Obviously weather permitting, but I'm willing to drive out and take a chance, or search for calm conditions north or south.

Could try Bean, if it's rough try Davenport Landing?

Don't make me go to Quarry Lakes!

Eric - why not join the derby at Monterey Bay Kayaks on Sunday? Meet the rest of the  NCKA'ers, catch some rockfish and possibly a Halibut and maybe even win a brand new Ocean Kayak Trident....while paddling in flat water conditions  :smt007

And if you behave, we may even feed you some hotdogs and burgers at the end of the day  :smt002

I must have missed that...  Thanks for the invite.

Please don't be offended if I no-show, though...  I just prefer to paddle solo or in a small group.

Eric B, you're the guy who drifted solo from BH to Pescadero right.  I forgot to tell you that about 3 years ago, I was about 1.5 miles south of BH (I did not know BH at the time) just doing shorefishing from the rocks and I was wandering at the time where the heck to launch and hit the nice rocky pinnacle there from where we were fishing.  Our BH trip opened up a light bulb in my head.  I may be able to join you on Saturday at BH if we meet up there at 6am; I just have to head home by 11:30 am.

I'll let you know tomorrow (Friday) after I check the wind forecast, swell, etc.  what's the 'alternative' plan if we got to BH on Saturday and the condition is not permitting???

Ok Eric, I'm in for tomorrow, Sat, at 6 am.  I am getting the 'shield' charge up now.  I only have 4-hr battery to stay in the water...

I'd love to go to BH, but have decided to only go in the best of best conditions. Otherwise, I find it too lumpy and not much fun - hope you guys do well!

From what I see, it looks iffy but possible; 4-6 NW swell, wind looks low in the a.m., then building. This is just for norcal in general though.
I might be down to try Bean again. Davenport is a backup as mentioned, though I'm not sure the conditions would change much there either.
