kayaker body recovered

So sad. I always carry two coiled metal lanyards, 75lb strength, connected to each other, and big carabiners at each end.
When the wind becomes dangerous, I connect the plastic loop at the back of my PFD to one of the kayak’s bungee cord behind me.
It works really well. Doesn’t get in the way, things don’t get stuck in it, I feel safer, and if I land with the cord connected (happened once when I forgot) there’s ample length in the system for freedom. If I ever have to disconnect myself in an emergency, it can be done with the big carabiners or cutting the bungee

I need to do this. Especially on my AI under sail, I always envision the boat getting away without me...

Yes, i have the same fear.  I have a surfboard leash, I wonder if its sufficient ......
