A buddy wants to buy- I'd like to suggest he go paddle several different boats, but under the circumstances, I don't know of any demo days or opportunities.  Anyone know what the current demo plan for CC or Headwaters is?  I really miss Chesapeake Light Craft doing demo days!

Have not had a good demo day in years
As far as I can remember there has never been a fishing kayak demo day

I just bought an outback at California Canoe and Kayak. Since I was spending 3K plus and it was my first kayak I wanted to demo it too. They let you demo it for $50 and if you buy one you get your money back.

Every store will let you demo a kayak.
The best thing about demo days is you can compare side by side.
Don't have to travel to different stores and try kayaks
I fair ness to dealers they are expensive to put on

We should add a demo time at the end of different fishing meet up/tournaments.
Should be part of entry requirements. ???
You register you kayak make and model so can get different kayaks and not all same
At end of fishing remove personal stuff and allow folks to try
Maybe a donation for demo goes in pot for big fish ???????????

I also recently bought from California Canoe & Kayak after doing several demos with them. Their customer service can be... Well let's say mixed. Sometimes it felt like I was having to chase them down over the phone and beg and plead for them to take my money. It worked out in the end. Redwood City was not the closest store to me, but Devin at that store was completely awesome. So just wanted to give props to him. As another reply mentioned, they charge something like fifty bucks an hour to do demos, and then they credit the demos back to you if you buy a kayak within a certain time. They had no problem with me bringing fishing rods and at least getting a little flavor of fishing from the kayak as well. I ended up getting the Hobie compass and the kayak is awesome! Also they give 10% off any extra gear if you buy a kayak.

Headwaters with the exception of this year puts on an awesome demo day in Lodi.  I was able to test all of their fishing kayaks that day.  just saying...so hopefully it returns next year

I was specifically told by kayak city that they don't do demo's because kayaks pretty much sell themselves, so i drove straight to Headwaters and bought a kayak there. lol.
