shark attack at Pleasure Pt, Santa Cruz 3/27/20

 Lee Solomon, KSBW TV (Salinas) weatherman and waterman posted on his  Facebook page that on 3/27/20 a shark attacked a teenager prone paddleboarder (one of two) outside the kelp at Pleasure Point (which is near 30th Ave in the county area of Santa Cruz, between Capitola and Santa Cruz city).  He posted pics of the board with a good-sized curve of tooth dings.  The paddleboarders were not hit or injured, but one was knocked off the board by the attack.

I saw that...crazy timing. Glad the young man was unharmed.

I thought the GSW migration pattern put them somewhere else at this time of year....

It chose the yum yum yellow paddle board over the red/white one -- just sayin.

Yes most of us are aware of this fact. There’s been many posts on here regarding this fact. But this is great info for newbs.

I was thinking this was a repeat attack spot. Thank you for verifying.

Was out in Monterey Bay Thursday... another yak yelled to his buddy, “Dolphin! Means good luck!” But when I looked, I saw just the one... BIG dorsal and tail... it isn’t until I see more than one that I start feeling my luck has changed for the better!
