Basically what I mean is on the revo you can get in front of a wave, dig in with your paddle, lean into it and ride the wave in.

On the outback you have to time it better and paddle in on the back side of the wave.

Revo gives more room for error in your timing.

Just don’t overthink it. Get on the beach between waves and you will be fine.

The speed between the two is not very noticeable. The outback actually performs better speed wise when it is loaded down with gear. Empty and cruising I would say the revo is slightly faster.
Dude that is a great point, Jon! Because it does feel like the Revo gets over loaded when I bring too much rods & gear...then add fish. The OB probably displaces the payload/weight a lot better.

And Bill, I would be hesitant to hit Anchor Bay for your first surf launch...that place is notoriously sketchy. Doran would be a great choice beceause its a long beach and you can try different spots where the waves are bigger or smaller, etc. Similar to Monterey beach. I’d totally go with ya if you ever make it down this way!
Sorry for the minor threadjack guys—this is a great thread!
