Huh interesting so these monster ling prefer to latch onto a 28" bait and netting is the preferred method of securing.

Now I just need to find a 28" lure.

There should be longest lure (as opposed to longest fish) ling contest...

 I had a similar experience last December with the big Ling on a legal Ling!
Did the death Roll 2 ft under my yak!
On the net job, the small Ling made it in but the big girl got 1/2 way in & Let go and said #**k you, I’m going down!!

That’s some Exciting shit!!!
That’s why we do this...  rare but adrenaline pumping  fishing!!!
