Hi I’m Rick from San Jose, retired and love to fish! New to kayaks and fish Santa Clara County waters. Since we only have one lake open to boating (Calero), I guess that’s where I’ll be fishing. Hope to see anyone out there.  :smt006

Man, I wish SC Co would let us kayak on Uvas, Chesbro, Anderson, Coyote, and the creeks like we used to. I’ve been fishing those from shore during my lunchbreak...and every time I think about how they mismanaged these lakes it pisses me off haha!

Welcome Rick! I haven't been out to Calero in such a long time. Are there still hundreds of boaters out there? [emoji39]

Yes, and shit tons of jet skis too.  Water is low and high, depending on how they manage the flow (water is high now, the "thumb" cove to the left of the ramp has water).  But at least they don't allow wake to the left of the ramp so far.

Yes, I feel the same about the miss-management of the waters, specially when I pay for an annual pass (launch, inspection, park fee) that doesn’t get used to its fullest. An the lack of wake boats on small waters would be nice. The lakes that close the launching facilities should still be available to kayaks, and tubes. I’m sure it has to be about the money. I’d be willing to volunteer some of my time to help open the waters for others. :smt006
