Maybe I don't want to be on a boat with you, certainly not in the same stateroom :smt008

Hey Jim,

Glad you're coming along.  It'll be good to have a local expert with us...

I'm going to try to buy the things I need in the next couple of days. I have a couple of questions though:

Live Bait:
1) What size/type hooks would you recommend?
2) Will it be best to flyline the bait or will we be using sinkers?
3) If using sinkers should we use egg sinkers?
4) What size sinkers should we use?

Iron:
1) What types are most effective?

General:
1) Will we need wet suits? I'm assuming we will but I see a lot of pics of people down south fishing without them so not sure.

Can't wait...I sure hope we all hook into something really nice.

1. Really depends on the bait size, but 2/0-4/0 should cover you.
2-4. I generally fly line but some sliding egg sinkers are a good idea 1-3 oz above a three foot flouro leader and swivel.

Lures:
Tadys and Mega Baits, plus some plastics for the Calicos. Red heads are the best.

General:
The water at Clemente can be cold. I prefer dry gear, paddling pants and jacket. If not you will most likely need a wet suit.

I'm with Kevin. Why not make it an annual memorial event. Bummed to miss out.

Annual trip would be awesome. When we are down there we should book for next year. Any date suggestions for next year.

I thought we'd wait and see how it goes before we make it annual, but I am down with the concept.

Not sure what you consider warm, but the water at Clemente is not it. Deep water all around the island make for chilly waters.
