After some thought of road tripping North to fish the coast and leap frog lake to lake, I think im going to make it simple and just fish one lake. Im planning on heading out to Hell Hole for some kayak camping and fishing. I've never been there before so if anyone has some intel or wants to go that would be great. It looks like the wind wont be too bad

Here is a recent report from the area. French Meadows is worth checking out also.

FRENCH MEADOWS RESERVOIR

Trout bite continues to hang on here. Best results come with a watermelon dodger and a nightcrawler.

HELL HOLE RESERVOIR

The host at the Big Meadows Campground reported to Pete Robinson at the Georgetown Ranger Station that fishing has been very slow. “They are catching a few kokanee once in a while,” Robinson said. “No one can figure out the right color combo and depth.”

Hell Hole is awesome.
Spent 4 days there last week.
Best camp site is in the far back. Look where the Rubicon River flows into the main body .Short hike up to paradise.
From that camp site, hike up the Rubicon river to some of the most pristine swimming/fishing holes ever.
The kokanee bite was slow, but we did score a few fat fish on dodger hoochie combo at 37 feet on the wire..
Bald Eagles were in full force.
Good luck and have fun man.

There is so much to say about this trip but I will make it VERY short.
- Revo has no limits
- Follow the road signs
- Kokanee are tasty
- Big lake trout break hearts
- Bald Eagle
- Beautiful scenery
- Wear sunscreen
- Buy a good water filter

Over it was great trip and I am excited to do it again. Thanks Kokoloco for some great tips.

That's a nice looking Koke. How was the fishing?

It looks like you drove in. How was the road? How far back were you able to get? I camped one time and took my gear in on my kayak. There are some nice camp spots in the dirt with fire rings. I had a large group of 4 wheelers near me. Do you know, does the road become 4 wheel drive only?

Way to get after it Gabe.  Sam is a great guy and I get to fish with him from time to time. He knows his kokanee fishing for sure.

Looks like a great time. And me loves a concise report, but this is going to extremes...

You can go into French Meadows and turn right at the dam.

My phone directed me to turn left at meadows and that lead to a crry rough road to the resovoir that lead went for about 10 miles. I kayaked into my camping spots, I saw one jeep that drovenin pretty far though. I dont know how he got there

Lucky for me last time I noticed the sign at the intersection at the dam that pointed right. When google maps tried to send me down the jeep trail I turned around and followed the sign and the paved road.

Oh and the fishing... I brought 5 kokes to the boat and lost 2. The kokes were easy but I spent most of my time on macks only to lose the only one I hooked under the boat
