Looks like the south swell is increasing thru Wednesday, which is probably not a good thing...

I was out there yesterday and rockfishing was solid (especially good around NB) and the word on the street was that halibut fishing was good near 4 mile. I've gotten a few halibut recently in the vicinity of lighthouse point but, sadly, all shorties.

How was the bite? I had pretty slow action last week.

Cheers,
Brad

Rockies biting early but went completely dead around 9. Rolling swell, dense fog early, but wind very light until 1:00. Took home one nice ling in the end. One radio halibut reported but little action that I could see among the half dozen boats in the mile buoy area. Acres of bait on the inside with whales feeding plus I got in the middle of a pod of extremely energetic Risso's Dolphins, made my day!

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a lot of fun, even if the fishies ones were not as cooperative as they could have been.

was hanging out at manresa around 10:30 after a chiro appt.  wind was pretty minimal, swell was definitely up but looked manageable.  lemme know if you head out again soon, or feel like coming further south, like carmel.  thanks for the report.
