And new to Kayak fishing. My name is Kyle and I live up north in Fortuna (about 20 minutes south of Eureka). I Got a FeelFree Moken over the winter break and have had it out in a couple of lakes and into the bay a few times. Would still consider myself very green and would like to get up w/ some folks in the area to get some fishing in and to expand my kayak fishing knowledge. I’m not sure on how the forum works; if there’s sub groups by geographical location, or if folks exchange numbers, email each other when they’re going out, etc…Any help would be awesome and I look forward to meeting some of you fine folks.

My first fishing trip in a kayak was w/ Loleta Eric on a guided trip out of Shelter Cove last fall. He took my kayak fishing innocence lol and now I’m hooked. It was a phenomenal experience, Eric’s the real (reel?) deal and his kayak fishing experience is top notch. Sorry for the love fest Eric :)

Welcome to the madness!

And no need to apologize for the lovefest with Eric, as everybody on here feels the same way---even people like me who have never met him.

Right on. Some members are wary of newbies, but if you start out with a proper lesson from Loleta Eric or Allen Bushnell, I will gladly go fishing with you any time! Because I know you'll be adequately prepared. See ya OTW!

Welcome! Watch the salmon threads, if you got all your gear you may have a shot at some kayak chrome.
