The rapids may not be huge but, they were plenty big and fast to get my heart pumping. Got my new Tarpon 120 Ultralite and couldn't wait to test it out. Drove to a remote creek did a bit of scouting and had some fun for a couple afternoons. Oh and it was also my trial run for my kokatat pants and jacket, worked great, stayed dry both days. As for the new yak ... I loved being able to carry it like a suitcase to the launch! And as for how it handled.... there is no wipeout footage clips  :smt003 Really impressed!!!

Good stuff, Kevin!

Did you see any fish spawning on the tailouts or holding in pools?

Cool!

95% of the time I am running a T160 in the ocean. Sometime I forget all the neat places and fun things you can do with a smaller kayak.

Thanks for the video.

Thanks all for the kind words on the video, it was good times, not often I get to yak with my brother!

Great video, and man is that pretty!

Makes me wish I hadn't sold my little Liquid Logic Coupe (10'). That was tons of fun to scoot around on.

Thanks! Yea I needed a smaller yak to use for such occasions, going to keep it light and simple no FF or anything of the sort.

Fun video. I wanna go paddling now.

More rain coming, creeks allover going to be coming up... or go sturgeon fishing & get towed around!

Cool!

I bet racing rob would take his 160 on this run  :smt044

Ya know day 1 I was so focused on the river and being safe I did not even look for fish... Day 2 I was so focused on my brother and both our safety I didn't even really look. A couple times I though sure would be nice to fish this hole but that was about it. Was actually kind of nice to just enjoy the creek and surroundings and not worry about catching fish the whole time.

Ive done class 4 on the trinity in an inflatable kayak, got pics but no video. but that was when I was a lot braver in my early 20's. Feeling old these days, those class 1's are enough for me :)

I do not believe they make the tarpon 140 in ultralite only the 120 , based on my search of wilderness site and quick google search. If you ever want to try out the 120 just let me know... you are not that far away.... and though we have not met we frequent many of the same events :)

Im down, you want to go in the next couple weeks after the rain? Ive always wanted to launch on mt view rd and go down to hendy woods, through some uncharted beautiful country, but that can only be done during high flows and needs a bit of coordinating, hendy woods to the mouth might be a good start but im down for either, let me know if you want to cross either float off the list sometime soon!!

Awesome video, thanks for sharing your adventure.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
