I live right by Vaqueros and never rented a boat. One day I will but, I fish the north side by the dam. I enjoy hiking to my fishing spots because I get to run into all the wildlife , snakes, deer, bobcats, rabbits and tarantulas. My last trip back in April I almost stepped on a fat rattlesnake. It was occupied eating a mouse that was stuffed in its mouth. She didn't rattle or move. Snapped a couple pics with my phone and just slowly backed up. Forced me to fish an area I didn't want to at first but, ended up with 7 bites and 4 fat lassen in 45mins.

I rent a boat on occasion during the week when it is half off and then there are days when I just like to kick it on the back and relax.

Maybe this spring I will do some hiking with you.

Look for the hook up. I will try to remember to message you if I go out. Haven't hiked Los Vaqueros, but have enjoyed hikes at Lake del Valle.
