No. The North Fork (Clementine) dam was built in the late 30sto catch sediment. Auburn Dam wasn't proposed until the 60s.

Because I saw an article in Vice today that passed off the folklore history of Rough and Ready as an actual historical account.

That article seems real and full of non cited facts, I believe it!!

Clementine Darn (North Fork Darn) is a spillover variable arch darn. It was built by the Army Corps in 1939 to catch debris, presumably mining and logging associated debris.
