I found a possible alternative, though not sure how well it will perform under heavy pressure.

A regular 1/4-20 stainless steel carriage bolt will fit on my rails (Scotty low profile track 440-4 and the stock rails on my Raptor G2, and Railblaza rail).

'got those from Lowes, Home Depot should carry them as well.

What is your rigging idea that requires "lots" of Mighty Bolts?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

'thinking about adding 4"x8" plates to both side rails so I can mount additional stuff.   And adding a trolling motor (gasp!) to the Raptor G2 original adapter.

No firm plans yet, but still thinking about minimalistic vs complete-gear philosophy.   I want my salmon catch rate to be 66% success rate per outing .....

It's your kayak, but I would recommend steering toward minimalism. What "additional stuff" are you thinking of? Besides a FF, a rod holder, and (maybe) a camera mount, what more could you need on your rail?

Don't forget your remote control box for your electric downrigger, a jam cleat for your anchor line, custom rod holder mounts.  What's the point in having a kayak track system if you don't use it to make things modular (i.e. customize for your specific fishing application for that specific day)?  Not everyone fishes for just one type of fish everyday.  That's true "minimalism" - the idea that you use only specific items you need or could use for that particular trip.

I am thinking of three setups, 1) All Day Fishing, 2) Hit And Run, and 3) Kids Day Out.   This setup is for #1 & #3.

A perfect thing to do during winter, otherwise the withdrawal will be a serious issue.

I was thinking specifically of the G2 raptor. My anchor clam cleat is installed aft of the rails. Not sure I'd want it as far forward as the rail system.

I'm modding one this winter too. Was planning on buying the bag of t bolts last time I did it was 6 for $18 or so. I'll have to find them again, pretty sure I ordered the last ones through headwaters in redding. I might be misremembering price.

Toilet seat bolts !       :smt005
        They're  Brass

    Just ask a plumber !

Yes, toilet flange bolts work great, and also come in stainless---a little harder to find than brass but much better, IMHO. I've got several stainless ones that I don't think I'll ever use...
