Thanks for the phone advice as backup, very cool
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Keep in min, if you need it in an area without cell service, you need to load the map while you still have service.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

I cannot speak to the "Deeper" product but i do use a similar product and I would not recommend it primarily due to battery life. I have never had the unit outlast a day on the water and the unit tends to drop the connection with my phone which is annoying because you have to reboot the app to reconnect. When it works correctly its fine but I feel as if I spend more time trying to make it work than I do fishing (exaggeration but no less annoying)
Otherwise, it does locate fish but for the money I think you could do better with a unit from Lowrance or similar. I should have saved a little longer but thats just my 2cents
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

I just purchased two of these castable fish finders.

FishHunter Directional 3D & Deeper Pro Plus.

I do not yet own a boat/kayak.  So for me, I can't go with a mountable sonars just yet.

I tried FishHunter on a rental boat off of Capitola this past weekend.
And I can tell you that it didn't really live up to my expectation.

Given that I am still getting accustomed to adjusting signal strength setting... I was not able to detect bottom fish.  ... Rockcods and Lings.

I was catching them... just not with the help of the sonar.  :(

I'll try again with Deeper and see if it's any better.

I don't think it's uncommon to catch fish and not see them on the FF.
