Could someone recommend a pair of boot foot waders for the beach? I'm sick and tired of cleaning off sand from my stocking foot waders and boots. Something less than $200 would be ideal.

Thanks,
ernest

Ernest,

I just use a pair of $25 dive boots and my waders have "cuffs" that go over the boots. They seem to keep sand from filling in.

Yeah, breathable bootfoot waders are pretty nice for surf fishing. I can't really reccomend any specific models but I own 4 pairs of waders...neo bootfoot, neo stockingfoot, and 2 pairs of breathable stockingfoots...sold my breathable bootfoots and miss them every time I hit the beach.

Thanks guys. I like my stockingfoot waders, but it's a PITA to clean that and the boots after each trip. I like the one from Orvis, but it has a felt sole. Otherwise I would've bought it already.

I have the orvis bootfoot felt, have no problem with them at the surf and very easy to clean. I compared it with Caddis & LLBean, went with orvis, comfy and lightweight.

I use the Crocs w/ the very heavy lug soles + adjustable heel straps -- they're light, cheap, they float like corks, they're comfy, drain instantly, and are super easy to get the sand and pebbles out of just by kicking them in the water.

For expanded use/capabilities, tabi's are worth considering.  Tabi's are originally traditional Japanese fishing shoes/socks, and now they've been modernized to be like felt-soled dive booties.  I came across these in Hawaii and really like them when I need to maneuver on any wet, slippery rocks.  Here's a link to some for ~$30.  https://www.hanapaafishing.com/products/sea-sports-tabis  These are much lighter and more comfy than boot-foot waders, quieter in the boat too.

Thanks Ben. Are you able to flush the sand out of the felt easily? I've never owned a felt sole wader. How sturdy is felt? And can you replace the felt easily?

Thanks again,
ernest

Thanks for everyone who made suggestions. I have other options, but I'm partial towards getting a pair of boot foot waders because I'm sick of washing sand out of my wading boots, booties, stocking foot waders, farmer johns, kokatat tempest pants, kokatat dry suit, etc....

Ernest,

I just spray it with the hose when I get home and cleans easily. The felt is pretty sturdy, I've walked on big rocks up the down to the surf and no issues. Not sure about how easy it is to replace though.
