Lookin' good! For the FF, you should be able to rig up a semi-rigid bag to hold the battery and mount the head unit as well as an arm to go over the side. You could perhaps strap it using the front lashings?

It turns better then any other kayak made hands down. If you're at Berryessa you're welcome to give it a try next weekend.
