Just kidding guys, it's all good. My  post had the desired effect.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

See what I mean about the similarities between catching a fish and a female!
The hard part is after you catch, with fish if you release it just swims away and you never see it again, if you keep you gut it Cook it and eat it.
With a woman if you let her go you never know what;s going to happen you could lose your money, house, kids, car, friends,Dog, or life.
If you keep her you have to keep her happy and can't chase other fish I mean woman, or fish as often.

FISHING OR SEX?????

Four married guys go fishing. After an hour, the following conversation took place:

First guy: "You have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishing this weekend. I had to promise my wife that I will paint every room in the house next weekend.

Second guy: "That's nothing, I had to promise my wife that I'll build her a new deck for the pool.

Third guy: "Man, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I'll remodel the kitchen for her."

They continue to fish when they realized the fourth guy has not said a word. So they asked him. "You haven't said anything about what you had to do to be able to come fishing this weekend. What's the deal?"

Fourth guy: "I just set my alarm for 5:30 AM. When it went off, I shut off the alarm, gave the wife a nudge and said, "Fishing or Sex" and she said, "Wear a sweater."

Mooch, note that when you catch her, you usually have to be a "breeder," too! :smt005

Then there's the fish you thought was a keeper ... which then proceeds to yank your favorite rod (and HALF of all your fishing gear) into the ocean never to be seen again.  I'm not bitter or anything.   :smt010

Allen that sounds like it was a CARP, a tasteless fish, not worth keeping in the first place.  Be thankful, it only got away with half of your gear, and not your kayak too!

Here's the rule to that predicament - just remember your imagination often runs away about the big one that got away.  It often ends up being an average size fish, which is not worth the time or the struggle it took to reel the dang thing in. Then there's the kind-of fish that likes to play around for a really long time, and as soon as you're about to use your net to catch it, the dang fish gets away.

It takes an experienced fisherman to know when to use his knife, and when to cut his line, so he doesn't lose his gear, just  the hook.  This is where experience and practice comes into play, which is why I highly recommend fishing all kinds of fish, even if you THINK you like a particular kind, it is always best to know for fact that you do.

Hey Big J, and all you other friendly guys out there.  I am putting together a friendly get together at Santa Margarita Lake on July 14th and 15th for a fishing derby, barbecue, and paddle, for any of you who aren't doing anything that weekend.  The information in listed under the Tournament section.

Perhaps I can give you more fishing pointers....Right now I need to dash off to an appointment.  Have a Happy Valentines Day tomorrow with your Sweetie(s). :love4: Just remember a wise fisherman always knows which lure and bait to use, in order to catch the prize.

Oh, Mickfish regarding your joke.  The really sad part about it, is it made me wonder why a woman would toss a man out of bed over him going fishing....this falls into the chapter in how to prepare a fish once you caught it.  If you don't cook that fish just right, it dries up... (Ok so I stink at telling jokes.  I can't highjack Rickey's post any more or else he'll come after me and clobber me. :smt075)

Hey Big J, and all you other friendly guys out there.
:smt005 Sky Big J'S name is the same as yours.

I may have been guilty of treating women like fish when I was younger and didn't know any better, but since I grew up and my keeper netted  me it's a lot better than fishing. We joke a lot about WAF but it's all give and take.

Jeez, hijacked is right. I read the first few posts about movies & books, yet when I go to the las to recommend a film I'm reading about relationship advice??? Not that there's anything wrong with that...
I was trying to think of the film title that Nanook of the north reminded me of. It was "Man from Aran". The old film is about village life on an island near scotland. It has one of the gnarliest fishing scenes in it I've seen (since it is all real) in which a rowboat full of fishermen harpoon a huge basking shark. I thought it was very interesting.
Anyway, ya'll can go back to what you were talking about now.  :smt003
