I just went ahead and called Oregon Tackle. Apparently you can slide the swivel out of the clear tube and easily clean it with some warm water and soap. Friendly gal on the phone said they only clean theirs out about once a week or so (lucky bastards must get to fish a lot...).
Thanks for looking into it.  My fears of the dreaded Fart Chamber are assuaged  :smt001.

Yeah, but I bet they fish like everyday and they keep that thing on the boat deck somewhere.  We don't really have that luxury, well some do.   

I would imagine soaking it in some water with dish soap should do the job though.  I already do that to salmon lures after using procure so I don't have to smell it each time I walk by.   :smt005

Yeah, always a good idea to keep your salmon lures clean and free of human stank. Salmon have very sensitive schnazzes.
