I use them for both FF cables and a camelback tube, and neither will slide easily thru the fitting. I consider that a good thing, since it's likely more waterproof that way.

For a Camelback tube???  I love this idea!!!  Goodbye water bottle!

Huh. My Outback only has the mesh pocket in the middle (between your legs). I'll figure something out.

the 2015 changed the pockets to the sides and not in the center anymore

My bad on the pocket location.  You could probably get by with an appropriately sized small carabiner.  Small enough that the blue nuts won't slip out of it, then clip it to something handy...  Carabiner lives on the cords...

Good luck!

That's pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Small carabiner and a little shock cord should do the trick.

I mostly just want to make sure I don't damage the cables when I load the kayak onto my racks... (Yes, it already happened to me once....)

I just bought a mesh pocket, threw away the mesh, added the Hobie rubber pocket to the frame, & screwed the new pocket to the sidewall right before the first foot well indent. When I remove the FF I wrap the cables with a small towel & tuck them in the pocket. Dry & safe. Then while OTW I have another pocket to put some pliers in or whatever.

Good idea, Salty. I'll check that out.

Looks like I'm one of the lucky ones who's gonna have to sand down the transducer plug a little to get it through the ring/collar of the Hobie thru-hull fitting... I don't think it'll cram through there without really funking up the threads. Oh well.

Cram it!  Just use a little finesse and the blue nut will leave a small score on the threads.

I figure, risk damage to the $5 black wingnut, rather than sand the $400 blue FF nut.
