2015 Outback front hatch leak

does the 16 have a seal on the bottom of the lid? If not then the bucket in there will make it plastic to plastic and it cant seal too well. Im gonna run a bead of silicon on mine or put on a self sticking trim to the lid so it can sandwich the bucket n seal.

No.  The seal is between the plastic bucket liner and kayak.  So some water can get in bucket but not in kayak.  I am okay with that as the new kayak I got has the square latch by my seat and I can put a lot of stuff in there.

you may be right as long as the bottom seals well. Im not sure if mine leaking had anything to do with the bucket, but seems it should be sealed as well.  Im gonna finally get around to putting the seal on mine before the FnC in two weeks, will see if it still leaks then. If so I will do the mod as in the video here in this thread.

Just checked and the new seal is thicker than the previous one so maybe they made a replacement.  And yes I have the LE outback and if I keep my other one I may add that square hatch to it.
