seal part number is 71305001, go thru your dealer and ask for a warranty claim.

I have not gotten to install yet.

Well.....I contacted my dealer. Used blue grease to identify the areas of the hatch that did not make contact. It only makes contact at about 25% of the circumference. Took it to the dealer for them to see. Sent pics, etc. Im told that Hobie is saying," too bad , that's the way they are, they are not made to be water proof." Not acceptable.

Yeah, you won't get that response from Hobie. "Too bad" ?   Glad Mike was able to fix you up!

I did a google search on 71305001 and its part for the PA 14.

Search my boy Brandon Barton on YouTube, he has a diy fix for the front hatch leak.

Thanks. Good video. Although it's not the top hatch that is the real problem, although a little trimming might help. They cut the inner hatch lip really uneven at the factory. It's so bad my boats takes on gallons of water in nasty conditions. I've sent a request in for a replacement hatch seal on Oct 1st, there fix idea but nothing in the mail as of yet! Feeling unappreciated as a Hobie team guy right now. Not happy!

can watering from a hose expose this issue?  when i washed mine this weekend, i ran the hose over the front hatch and didn't notice any water inside.  i'll have to try the blue grease and check the seal footprint.

On mine, yes. Any water going over the hatch would spill over and into the boat.

It's all good.
Brandon owns a kayak charter service out of Pensacola Florida. Hit him up if y'all run thru there, catch some bull reds...

I guess I will have to give this fix a try.  Not sure why a company with all the research and development can't send kayaks out without a leaky hatch.

I have a 2016 and I put one of those plastic buckets in the front hatch area and they don't leak.  Haven't tried without bucket so not sure if it was actually fixed as I like having the bucket now.
