It was my board and fin that got me.  I had to remove my because I got tangled up with someone else's after blowing the drop.  I held onto the cuff with my hand, another bomb rolled through, and when the wave let up the board came rifling back right at my face.  No bueno.  I thought I'd broken my jaw.  We actually had to go BACK to the ER this evening to get more stitches for a laceration on the inside I'd initially missed.  Ugh.

Still, it's only going to be 5 days out of the water, that's not too bad.

BTDT but......... JEEZ that is a bad cut. I definitely am a huge fan of nose cones/guards but there's no defense against the edge of your fins except maybe keeping your hands over your face until you regain board control.  Anyways, I hope that heals up looking nicely & soon!
