This was a shakedown event in that we had lots of new equipment and it was the last event with our leader Don Anglin.  Kyle, John, Tom,  beat me there and shortly thereafter Jack, Scott,  Mark and Derrick  showed up.  All before 7am.  Rob showed up the the trailer and then the fun began.  Our new HOW trailer and all new kitchen were amazing.  As Rob said, the trailer is like a clown car, the stuff just keeps coming out.

We had two sets of vets come from Palo Alto V.A.   One was was from the brain injury unit.  They were so brave as some had never been in a kayak before.  Once they got in and took the paddle in their hands, it was freedom time.  Total vets in kayaks were about 15 and then the rest were therapists and vets who wanted to take time and chill on the bank.

Glad you had a good group. Wish I could have made it.  When you guys get the upcoming years schedule, post up early so I can mark them on the calendar.

All the new equipment that we purchased for Jack's new kitchen worked out fine.  Finally we can store it in the trailer and Jack won't have to load and unload his personal stuff any more for each HOW event.  He and Scott were quite the duo at this event.
