nope, sfbay is one rod only, max 3 hooks. other restrictions apply.

... I would have listened to Sebast when he pointed this out.  :smt011

Fishing with single pole was first time I stopped optimizing. Still need to learn not to 'troll' on the way to position ;)

Guitarzan,
It's been a while since I have been on the forum but kids are growing up and I have a little more time these days.  Anyway I spent an abnormal time out on the water fishing from shore and kayak out of Linda mar this summer.  Anyway as for stripers from the kayak it seems to be a tough go.  I've trolled the surf, both side of Linda mar and everywhere in between but never hooked up on the kayak.  I would drop the kayak off go back at sun down and hook up from the beach with no problem.  If your targeting stripers I recommend sunset from the beach.  If anyone else had better much if be interested in hearing.

I don't know about other states, but CA fishing regs are very difficult to decipher, but you'll understand them if you read them over and over - and they can change during the season.
It's not only illegal to fish for rockfish with more than one pole (and more than two hooks), what you say you are fishing for is not necessarily going to be decisive - if you're over a rock pile and you have rock fish terminal tackle in the water, circumstantial evidence is pretty strong that you are indeed targeting rockfish.  Besides, you don't need two lines in the water to do well if you're in the right spot.
Landing net - it's my theory that you need one on board with an 18' opening, but there is not a word about it requiring a hoop or a handle (unlike some other nets mentioned in the regs).   But mine has a hoop and handle just because I'd rather fish than argue with the warden.
