I have a new Lowrance ff which came from the Hobie catalog for $218.00 for the complete Kayak kit.  The 8 AA battery pack came with throw away batteries which lasted about 9 hours, so I would like to replace with rechargeables. Anyone know which would be best? Thanks

I have a few different kinds and haven't noticed any difference.  Any reputable company ought to be fine.  (My non-reputable company batteries have been fine so far too).

Costco usually has some battery/charger combo packs at decent prices.

Get the ones with a high milliamp hour rating for longer life 2500mah + and read up on nimh battery care, charging, etc. Then look for a gang charger 8-10 batteries.

Or you could buy a 4500mah(4.5amp) sealed lead acid w/ charger about the same money or less  and almost double the life. But its a bigger/heavier battery.

I just purchased a 12 volt from Cabelas w/ charger for $29. A little heavy but should last a long time.
It's a sealed gel cell, no fuss no muss.

I'm in the process of making a AA power supply for my T15. I have a regular 12 volt on my Adventure. The 12 volt will run for 3 straight long days of fishing without running down but it is heavier.

Remember when you switch from Alkaline batteries to Rechargables, you'll need more batteries to be at the same voltage.  Change out the 8 AA battery holder for a 10 AA holder and your good to go.  Sonny had an awesome deal for rechargeables in another thread....
