Try diving.

FWIW...I've caught more vermillion sitting warm and dry on my kayak than I have turning blue underwater looking for them...

Also...fwiw...they do come in "shallow" sometimes like...35-45 FOW....so don't automatically discount good structure and fishy areas in those depths...

We found a reef loaded with nice Verms last year in 35-45 FOW and between the 4 of us managed to get 13....

I imagine a lot of hook and line guys (if trying to target verms) would have passed right over the reef we were on...

Have also shot em in same or shallower depths in BigSur, and by hook and line in Humboldt...

Anyway, you'll get em...just get out there and keep your jig in the water.  :smt001

It is legal now to spear fish with a small portable air canister that you can breath with? I've sen people using them and I heard it's legal.

The vermillion line is the best target to shoot for! Lots of red!
