I'm considering doing a pack trip with my two daughters to fish for golden trout.  Has anyone done one?  Which outfitter and which body of water would you recommend?  I don't know very much about trout fishing, let alone golden trout.

Ideally it would be a take us in, then come pick us up kinda deal.

Thanks,
Nate

Back in the day, we used to go horse packing each summer through Kennedy Meadows (below Sonora Pass). Highly recommended. I also went through Leavitt Meadows once too (on the east side of Sonora Pass). But I preferred the Emigrant Wilderness area from Kennedy Meadows...gorgeous area with so many fishing spots...you could easily day-hike to 2 or 3 spots each day. Have them drop you off at middle emigrant lake then pick you up 4 days later.

Sorry I can't offer any suggestions on where to go, but my buddy Dan used to go every year on a horseback somewhere in the high Sierra's  He had to keep his pack weight down I remember him complaining about it,  He packed in his float tube a couple of times in which he had to adjust his other gear for the weight.
The group was dropped off then then picked up a few days later.   :smt009 Never had the time to go on one of those trips with him....
