I had an non-yak outing with family in Pacific Grove yesterday and we wound up in a place that had good eats, moderate prices, in a casual atmosphere.  Lots of tables, no tableclothes, good service.  I'd feel comfortable in there in my after-fishing sweat clothes.

"Chile, Great Chili International Cuisine Restaurant"
Lighthouse Ave, between 17th & 18th Aves, Pacific Grove

I'm sorry, I didn't check it's hours and days, but I'd guess it's open for lunch/ dinner. It did have a take-out menu posted.
It's just up the hill from Lover's Pt., about a block up from another public park,  and it's on the east side of the Lighhouse Boulevard, which runs from Monterey to Pt Pinos. It doesn't have any big signs, but it's a fairly big gray two-story newer building set in among a lot of Victorian old downtown area businesses.

It did have at least one chili item on menu, but mostly a wide variety of menu choices from burgers to Mahi Mahi and veggies to a great Greek Combo plate of gyros, flatbread, chicken kabob, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, salad, saffron rice, Greek olives - about $12.  It was doing a brisk business, but it was noon and a snow day in the nearby park.
I think I'll be working my way through their menu next season!

Thanks for the tip, Tom.  Sounds like just the thing after a cold day paddling the local waters.

It's now on  my official  list of places to try.

Yeah,
That place is pretty good. Very popular too.
I prefer 17th St Grille. Best burgers in town and they have great outdoor seating. Chris seems to favor the Little Chicken House, across from Safeway on Forrest (I think thats called Forrest, the street that 68 turns into as you come down the hill). Both of these are perfect for "post-fishing" eats.
For vegetarian, I love Tillie Gorts! That place is great and the owners are awesome. They even have an organic foods market next door. Its on Lighthouse, kinda across from Carls Jr.
I used to love the Tinnery, across from Lovers Pt. It is now called Lattitudes and still good but not the same food or chefs. And a little more fancy. Great views though and perfect place to take the family.

Sounds like I've barely scratched the surface of good places to eat after fishing in the area.  Thanks, I'll have to check them out.  The only problem:  "I have but one appetite to give...."
