If its as big as expected the roads will most likely be un passable. I have some livestock as far as food and a huge water tank on a pump if needed. I have plenty of guns and ammo and first aid kits. Lots of canned and boxed goods. My problem would be keeping the beer cold. :smt009
Im going to your house with beer.

If the big one hits I expect no road, no power, no gas, no water.

Canned food does not last as long as you think. Freeze dried food is better; like hiking food.

I have about 50 gallons of water in plastic containers. I recently installed 2 rain barrels, so add that. Then I have a bunch of freeze dried hiking type meals. Plus being a camper I have a tent, sleeping bags and other supplies.

On my list is solar and wind power. Enough to charge a couple marine batteries. Also some hunting equipment. There's ducks, turkeys and dear near by. So a rifle and/or bow.

Best preparation? Camping. Play homeless.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Best money is spent on solar.  Wind isn't always blowin unless you are on the coast on in Livermore :smt044

Im stocked up on canned foods and pastas that we don't really eat.  I use to have 10 gallons of water in my closet, but now have no place to store them. Food and shelter aid generally takes 2 weeks for FEMA to reach disaster areas in the US.

FEMA are the last people I want to see. I have stuff and two legs to walk out. Plenty of Game to shoot. And streams to get a drink from. After doing the sanitation thing to the water.

Yes! Until you get the last handout and then have to carry your goodies through the crowd of hungry/thirsty people that just got told to come back next week.  :smt103 :smt068

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

If it comes to that point. I live in Hayward, and there are a bunch of stray dogs in the area.  Also plenty of lowlife backyard breeders.

Check out CNN right now and see if you would be ready for that.

IMO the most likely scenario those of us in "urban" areas are likely to face.
If you're speaking of Baltimore, it's simply RIDICULOUS what they are doing there right now :smt013

Watching line online right now ... crazy!
