Does it tangle though?
+1

I would tangle it.  It looks cool in the video but somehow i would tangle the rig so bad that i would have to cut it and go to a single..

Sorry to be so negative.... Someone please prove me wrong.

I bet it would cast OK without the added egg weight. And using some heavy/stiff fluoro for the leaders might help.

Hey I can see page two of this thread for some reason but not page one! Well, talked to a buddy over the weekend. He said that he's been in a bass tournament where first place was won with the rig. So if it tangles, it must not be too bad or often versus the results. There are a good amount of YouTube videos on the rig so there's gotta be a good amount of people using it with success.

For those that can't see the first page, my original post was with this video and was asking if anyone was familiar with the rig, had any tips, or used them for different species. There are several videos out there on the rig... This one just shows in good length the action of the baits/rig.

Nope, never seen that, but looks like a pretty fun tactic!  It does remind me of this thing called a wiggle rig I bought into a while back:

Wow that wiggle rig looks sweet too! That action puts a lot of live shiners and minnows to shame.

Yeah, but it was based on the Wiggle Rig, which was like an elastic band with spectra to use between your weight and hooks on a dropshot rig to impart that action.  You basically had to snag bottom or use heavier weight to do so as well.  This seems more freeing and natural looking, and i'm looking forward to giving it a shot!  :smt003

Yeah. I plan on hitting San Pablo Reservoir early Sunday for a few hours and plan on mostly throwing the rig. I'll post any results. Anyone's welcome to join so that we'd have a pack of donkeys out in the water.

Squid jig donkey rig . don't think the squid will have much swimming action but I bet they will dart nicely.

Add one of these "ActionDiscs" in front of each squid if you want to get real fancy with it.
