Down rigger worth the trouble ?

Off subject a little but still related. Just sold my two manual downriggers andj ust ordered my cannon electric downrigger for my aluminum boat. Gotta save up for the 2nd.  For those salmon that are just a little farther out than the kayak can take me !! YYYEEEHHHAAAA !

Never to far for a Marine.  This will be my first year to try from a kayak. 

Same hear DG. Gotta take it easy for a little longer with the Hernia. ( gosh is he still rambling on about the Hernia  ) I will be trying for the opener for cod here though in the yak. Not to far out. There's a big ling with my name written all over him that broke me off at Stillwater at the end of last year.
Unless Jim shot him already. 
In my mind I am already doing the Salmon chant.

I always tell my friends that we will be doing a recon mission on the aluminum and the have to be on stand by to roll over the side of the aluminum once we encounter our target.

Sounds more like a diving trip off a zodiac.  But I will be scouting on a non yak until they are close and then the kayak comes in play.
