Thanks everyone.  I'm hoping that this inspires someone else to take on a project like a kayak trailer as it was simply a bolt-on project and pretty simple to do.  I seem to have 'an eye' for seeing to products and repurposing them into something totally different, like a PWC trailer and a truck lumber rack.

The trailer was $300 from craigslist, the truck rack was $86 shipped from Amazon, the 3" black sewer PVC pipe was $17 for 2 6' lengths, misc. bolts to attach the PVC and eye bolts $7 and ratchet straps $7.
Total under $420.

Nicely done!!! My trailer is already setup with a rack on top to store gear but it about to get a conversion into something more like what you have there.  I'm going to be buying a new 2015 Pro Angler 14 and need to be able to haul it and my 2010 Pro Angler 14 at the same time.  I was thinking about lowering the uprights and then taking off the rail that runs around the top rack.  Then I would simply need to add some "bunks" up there for the second boat to sit on.  I'm hoping mine turns out half as good as yours!

In a perfect world I would simply sell my current trailer and buy a double jet ski trailer so the boats sat side by side.  Unfortunately that's not in the budget considering the cost of the new boat and electronics to outfit it!  :smt003

Two thoughts on your trailer and comments;
First, to modify, looks like all you have to remove is the center rear and front rail sections and leave all the rest of the rail in place.  Your new PA might fit, or you might have to open the front/rear a bit more.  Then find some narrow truck boxes to fit up there to stow gear between the new PA and the side rails.  Like these;

An overhang box might work too;

If there's not enough room on that rack, then bolt the truck side boxes to the outside.  The point being; those rails are worth hanging onto by removing only what you absolutely need to remove to get a PA to fit up there.

To lower, it looks like the top rack pins to the bottom half?  That should be easy.  If one nests inside the other, then you could replace the necked down portion with a smaller diameter tube and bolt though to hold that on as well as the top piece.  The tube, maybe a piece of chain link fence post or electrical conduit, 12" long, would slip half way down into your square frame and be held with a couple through bolts 90 degrees from each other.  Then the top section slides over the exposed 6" remaining tube and another through-hole drilled and bolted through.   (Hope that makes some sense...)

But, the main reason to use this trailer and not a double, side-by-side, is the footprint it takes to store it.  I find it very easy to stow my kayak stuff now all on the trailer in the garage and still have enough room to walk around in there.  Also, in parking lots, it will afford you extra room to move if there's others parked next to you.
